One of the most celebrated 19th century murders. Cobbled this together for a Halloween song, from the “Red Barn Murder” and “Maria Marten” broadside ballads – but drew heavily on the imagery in Tom Waits’ “Murder in the red barn”.
Sacrificed some of the historical details for effect ( e.g. Corder’s capture ) but overall outline reflects what happened.
